Is the app really free?
Yes, entirely. No account, no ads, no limited or locked feature. The optional support offered in the app is just a gesture toward Studio Kayan: it doesn't unlock anything extra.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. Vocabulary, audio, and the dictionary are all bundled with the app: you can review on a plane or the subway with no issue.
If I switch phones or reinstall the app, do I lose my progress?
Yes, for now: since there's no account, your progress is saved only on the device and doesn't sync anywhere else. Avoid uninstalling the app if you want to keep it.
What's the difference between Flashcards, Learn, and Test?
Flashcards: free-form review by swiping cards, at your own pace. Learn: a guided mode (multiple choice, then written) that moves you forward word by word. Test: true/false, multiple choice, and written questions to check what you actually know.
Is the app affiliated with Institut du Savoir?
The educational content (vocabulary, courses) is used with Institut du Savoir's permission, and each deck references them. The app itself is developed and published by Studio Kayan.
How does the home screen widget work?
Added to your home screen, it shows a random word from the level you've chosen. Tapping the widget draws a new word, without even opening the app.
I'm getting (or no longer getting) a reminder notification — how do I manage it?
This reminder is entirely optional and never turns on without your consent. You can find it or turn it off from the About tab, or by revisiting the welcome tutorial.
I spotted an error in a word, translation, or audio clip — what should I do?
Write to us at the address above, specifying the level and course involved: we'll pass it on to Institut du Savoir if needed and fix it.
